Skeena Big Mountain Camp

British Columbia
MX108/MX128
Join Kästle Pro Team athletes Hugo Harrisson and Lorraine Huber for the ultimate big mountain camp at Skeena Heliskiing, BC Canada
The Challenge

For the first time ever, Skeena Heliskiing and Kästle Adventure Tours have created a program geared towards strong skiers seeking to take their skiing to the next level. Rather than following your guides tracks in a classic heliski week, make your own. During the Kästle Big Mountain Camp you will learn how to plan and ski a line of your choice under the guidance of a Kästle Pro Team athlete and experienced guide. By using video analysis in which the lines we ski are filmed, you receive immediate feedback on your skiing technique and tactics. With the help of photos and maps, the evenings are used to plan the lines to be skied the following day. After visiting the Kästle Big Mountain Camp, you will become a more confident and knowledgeable skier, with experience in skiing big mountain lines.

At all times, the safety of the group has the utmost priority and great emphasis is placed on working as a team to ensure its safety.

The Location

Only 3 hours from Vancouver, Skeena Heliskiing is fast becoming the most sought after heliskiing destination in British Columbia, Canada, by many of the long time dedicated heliskiers and ski industry professionals who continue to seek out the ultimate skiing experience. Imagine skiing in one of the largest heliskiing areas in North America spanning 8,500 km2 with your own personal Kästle freeride coach and UIAGM mountain guide at your disposal. No lifts, no crowds, no tracks except our own. Imagine skiing new lines every day, typically between 600 and 1600 vertical meters, often first descents.

Skeena Heliskiing’s geographic location in northern BC ensures cooler temperatures and continual snowfall. The terrain here is especially suited to advanced skiers, varying from the Alpine to trees and glades. This new and dynamic heliski operator also boasts one of the lowest numbers of down days in the heliski industry (approx. 5 per winter season).

As a perfect combination, the 5-star “Cliffs at Kispiox River Lodge”, located only 6 minutes flight away from your first runs, ensures that you have all the comfort and service you need to relax after a long day of skiing powder. Choose between soaking in the whirlpool, enjoying a massage or just lounging in front of the open fireplace with a good book. In short, the lodge feels like a home away from home.

The Gear

To ensure you are on the perfect equipment to fully benefit from the Kästle Big Mountain Camp, we provide you with the ideal gear for the conditions: MX 108 and MX 128. You will also be provided with an inflatable ABS avalanche backpack, state of the art technology for helping prevent a burial in the event of an avalanche, as well as a modern avalanche beacon, shovel and probe.

Freeski by Boat Adventure Lyngen Alps

FX 84 / 94
8,000 vertical meters in 6 days: the ultimate ski touring experience in the Lyngen Alps

A vast playground for ski touring and freeriding
Skiing on KÄSTLE from the coast to a mountain peak and back to the ocean – that is the essence of the KÄSTLE Adventure Tour in the Lyngen Alps. The Lyngen Alps are a 90 km long and 15 to 20 km wide mountain range north east of Tromsö, Norway. The Lyngen peninsula is characterized with a few gentle ridges and numerous high alpine peaks which rise directly out of the fjords, reaching up to 2000 meters. An adventure in the Lyngen Alps is especially appealing when a modern speed boat, “The Spirit of Lyngen”, takes you to the best ski tours.

Experience adventure in a marine mountain paradise
Over the 6 days, we begin the ski tours directly from the shoreline. With more than 60 summits over 1000 meters flanking the Lyngen Fjord's shores, skiers are provided with an incredible choice of terrain. Under the professional guidance of UIAGM mountain guide Graham Austick, who loves these mountains with a passion, you will experience new peaks daily with wonderful views and above all, rewarding descents.

The special thing about this program is the daily video analysis and coaching provided by KÄSTLE Pro Team athlete Lorraine Huber. She will bring in her experience during skiing and in evening vidao analysis sessions to bring your technique and body awareness to the next level.

With individually selected and ultra light touring skis from the FX range, you will be perfectly equiped to meet the Lyngen challenge, making ski touring a true delight. Ski tours will be chosen daily according to the weather, snow conditions and participants. Ascents generally range from 600m to 1500m to reach the most beautiful and rewarding descents.

Relax, unwind...
A typical evening meal of halibut and cod tastes especially delicious after a day of touring in the Lyngen Alps. The modern wellness area in the Lyngen Lodge also offers the ideal opportunity to relax and unwind. You'll love the outdoor spa with views of the fjord and mountains, just magical!

Situated in the Lauterbrunnen valley, opposite the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, Mürren can only be reached by cable car. The ski area Mürren-Schilthorn goes from 1,650 to 3,000 meters above sea level, making it the highest ski resort in the Berner Oberland. It offers numerous off-piste runs with an incredible 2300 meters of vertical descent. Short, easy bootpacks from the ski lifts will reward skiers with secluded, untracked runs.

This unique program is designed to give advanced off-piste skiers a maximum of skiing time in some of Sascha’s favourite spots. In three days we will challenge you with 18,000 vertical meters of powder, steep couloirs and tree skiing. The guide to guest ratio of 1:4 is second to none and will ensure the highest level of safety and fun for the group. The aim of the Freeride Advanced Camp in Mürren is also to actively involve participants in the line choice decision-making process and apply insights from an avalanche awareness workshop to the group’s skiing the following day.

After completing this course you will be prepared for more difficult endeavors such as our Mont Blanc Ski Adventure Courmayeur or the ultimate Skeena Heliskiing Camp in BC, Canada.

Arctic Heli & Catskiing Experience

Borgafjäll
MX 98 / 108
17,000 vertical meters in 5 days: heliskiing and catskiing in the Arctic wilderness of southern Lapland, Sweden

Borgafjäll is a small mountainous village with approximately 200 residents in southern Lapland, Sweden. Literally beyond the last road sign, Borgafjäll lies where vast mountain ranges mark the Norwegian border. Besides hunting, fishing, and the Sami culture of the native people, Borgafjäll is known for its challenging skiing and receives some of the highest amounts of snow falls in Sweden. During 6 days, we will explore these mountains of untouched wilderness by snowcat and helicopter.

In our own private and heated snowcat, we will be taken to the top of an isolated mountain where we will ski down again and again, using the snowcat as a taxi to take us comfortably to the top each time. You will be perfectly equipped to meet this challenge with individually adjusted and professionally tuned Kästle freeride skis on your feet. Furthermore, a Kästle Pro Team athlete will be at your side to help you hone your technical skills in different types of snow conditions and really enjoy yourself. The catskiing will be the warm-up to the highlight of this Kästle Adventure Tour in the Swedish mountain wilderness, and that is heliskiing in the Borgafjäll and in the Kittelfjäll area along the border of Norway.

We will be based in Hotel Borgafjäll, designed by the famous architect Ralph Erskine in 2002, recognised as Västerbotten's most beloved building by the council of Arkitekturtinget in 2001, awarded Lapland's Best Restaurant by White Guide in 2007, and recognized as one of Sweden's finest restaurants by the society Best Tables of Sweden. Apart from the skiing, there will be plenty of time to relax both mind and body in the Hotel’s amazing spa. The “home run” (of normally 3 or 4 runs) through the woods to the Hotel Borgafjäll will become a special part of your day.
