Graham Austick

Graham moved from the UK to Austria at age 19 to pursue his career in mountain guiding and ski teaching. The UIAGM mountain guide formed “Piste To Powder” in the mid 1990's and has steadily built up a guide team to cater for the English market in St. Anton. The operation expanded worldwide offering ski expeditions off the beaten track ranging from the Himalays, Alaska, Norway and Greenland where first descents for guests have been skied. Graham visited Lyngen first in 2000 and found the beauty and potential for skiing to be unmatched by any other region in the world. His dream has been to build and offer guests from all over the world an extraordinary holiday experience above the Arctic Circle.

Graham’s favourite ski descent is Store Kågtinden which is north of the lodge on the island of Kågen. The mountains are steep and jagged and the scenery wild and spectacular. If you catch it in the midnight sun you're in skiing heaven. “There's energy here like I've felt in no other place, it's like a giant magnet. It's also the midnight sun and northern lights, mountains and sea, winter snow and vibrant summer greens and flowers. The landscape boasts dramatic contrasts that touched me like no other region in world. I'm home!”
